  • 800g (1¾ lbs) chicken wings
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (or sweet soy sauce for a milder version)
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil or neutral oil
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp ground ginger (optional)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions (for garnish)

Preparing Caramelized Chicken Wings

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) with convection setting.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, oil, vinegar, ginger, and minced garlic. Coat chicken wings thoroughly in this marinade and let rest for 10-15 minutes (longer if you have time).
  3. Arrange wings on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through. For extra caramelization, switch to broil for 2-3 minutes at the end if desired.
  4. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions before serving. Serve alongside roasted potatoes or plain or stir-fried basmati rice.
