Homemade Cherry Syrup

Here’s a different way to use an abundance of seasonal cherries or simply a bag of fruit sitting in your freezer. You can put them on coconut tapioca cream, on your ice cream, cakes, or cheesecakes.

Ingredients

  • Makes 1 jar
  • 300g (10.5 oz) frozen (or fresh) pitted cherries
  • 100ml (scant ½ cup) water
  • 50g (¼ cup) sugar
  1. In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar and bring to a boil until the sugar is dissolved. Add the cherries and lower the heat. Cook over low heat for about 20 minutes.

Storage

These cherries, stored in a sterilized jar, will keep for about ten days in the refrigerator.
