Tahini Sauce - Tehina

A simple sauce made with tahini (sesame paste) that pairs beautifully with roasted vegetables like eggplant or whole roasted cauliflower Miznon-style, as well as with legumes like red lentils or chickpeas.

  • Makes 1 large bowl
  • 3/4 cup tahini (70g)
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice (30g)
  • 3/4 cup cold water (70g)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced, or 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 small hot green chili pepper, minced (optional)
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the lemon juice, tahini, water, garlic, green chili pepper, and salt.

Tahini sauce pairs well with many dishes. You can serve it with pita bread, roasted onions, or classic hummus.
